The goal of the youth group is to provide an authentic community that gives middle and high school parishioners a safe place to explore, deepen and enrich their Catholic faith and identity. We accomplish this by providing a solid group of young adult volunteers, led by our Coordinator of Youth Ministry, who share their personal testimony and knowledge of God and the Catholic faith and who support and encourage young people by being present in their lives, both at youth group and throughout the week. We currently have two separate programs, one for students in sixth through eighth grade in the parish and one for our high school students.
Middle and high school youth group, FIRST CALLED!, is open to both school and PSR students and seeks to support parents in their mission of passing on the Catholic faith. We encourage a Christ-based community through games, small groups, and short talks on different aspects of our faith. High school and middle school students meet on alternating Sundays, October through May, 6:30 to 8 p.m., in the Bryce Eck Activity Center. Students are welcome to attend as many meetings as they are able.
FIRST CALLED! events are posted in the Sunday Bulletin, in ePost and on the Parish Calendar.
